Düsseldorf, 23.05.2017. Koleksiyon, manufacturer of innovative solutions for contemporary work culture, has officially opened its first German showroom in Düsseldorf's Medienhafen on 18th May 2017 with a major inauguration party. About 100 international guests from the fields of architecture, design, art and media came to learn more about Koleksiyon and exchange ideas. In addition to the keynote "Design & Pathos" by Koleksiyon Design and Brand Director Koray Malhan, the guests enjoyed a special Wine & Dine experience. And there was even more reason to celebrate: the development of the German subsidiary, Koleksiyon Möbel GmbH, has been extremely positive since it was founded ten months ago.
Since November 2016, Koleksiyon has shown comprehensive solutions for workstations, meetings, lounges and conferences in the Düsseldorf showroom. With its portfolio of carpets, glass, porcelain and decorative objects in addition to furniture, Koleksiyon acts as a full-range supplier in the market. As Koleksiyon Germany's managing director Dirk Boll emphasized at the opening ceremony: "We are very satisfied with the development so far. The organisation of the exclusive specialised trade network is proceeding as planned and many renowned dealers have already begun implementing the first projects with Koleksiyon. Not only is our brand with its exceptional product portfolio well received by strong specialist dealers, but our design is highly interesting for architects and we are being actively approached". Koleksiyon board member and Design & Brand Director Koray Malhan added: "The opening ceremony was an occasion to thank all the new partners and bring together interested parties to exchange ideas." The showroom is also a point of reference for architects, dealers and their customers. Koleksiyon sells exclusively through specialized dealers. The first events and workshops have already taken place. In addition to Germany, Koleksiyon is also supervising other European countries from its location in Düsseldorf and wants to continue its expansion course in Western Europe.
The Showroom
The 800m²-showroom was designed by Koray Malhan, the Brand & Design Director of Koleksiyon, with great attention to detail on the ground floor of Kaistraße 16a. The visitors enjoy a spectacular view of the Rhine through the approximately 50 meter long, continuous window front. White walls and light flooring present the product offerings, including many award-winning designs, in the right light and an open space. The former warehouse building was converted and expanded in 1997 by the renowned architecture firm Ingenhoven Architects from Düsseldorf. A connection to the history of the building was created by Koray Malhan through an open, visible, raw concrete ceiling and an open supporting structure. A busy bridge for pedestrians and bicycles only, the Living Bridge, leads directly across the Rhine to the showroom. The famous deconstructivist buildings of Frank O. Gehry are just a stone's throw away. Buildings by Steven Holl and David Chipperfield are directly adjacent to the Ingenhoven Building, thus making the area an important architectural hub.
